PostSubject: Construction at 6425 Weidlake Drive   Fri Dec 04, 2009 8:00 am

Hello friends and neighbors

Since I shared my concerns with some of you about the ongoing hauling

operation that has disrupted the tranquility of the Hollywood

Dell for the last three years, I have talked to the owner of the site,

Danny Fitzgerald, and the L.A. City Grading Inspector Sergio

Valenzuela. Both gentlemen were very forthcoming and receptive

to my comments. They both agreed that the requirements defined

in the L.A. City Building and Safety “Application to Export Earth”

from that site, have not been met.

Mr. Valenzuela impressed upon me however, that it would not be

advisable at this time to impose severe limitations on the project

because there is a possibility that the builder may abandon the site

due to economic pressures. This is apparently happening in many

locations around Los Angeles to the detriment of scores of

neighborhoods. We don’t want that to happen here. Therefore

I agreed with Mr. Valenzuela to only clamp down on the hauling

time. The inspector will ask Mr. Fitzgerald today to limit hauling

operations to Mondays through Fridays between 9 am and 3 pm.

No hauling of earth shall be done on weekends. However, cement

trucks are exempted from this limitation.

Mr. Fitzgerald told me that all hauling and foundation work for

the additional 4 buildings should be completed within 6 months.

He added that under the current City Ordnance such construction

in the Hollywood Hills is no longer permissible nor economically

viable.

I hope you all concur.

P.S. Thank you for your support Mr. Mensman
